Consistent service, good parts

I've ordered from Wolseley several times now for various plumbing jobs. This last order was for some copper pipe and a few push-fit fittings. The delivery took 4 days to get to me in Arizona, which is about standard for them, always reliable. The quality of the pipe and fittings was exactly what I expected, no issues. It's why I keep coming back; I know what I'm getting. The trade account pricing is always a plus too, makes a difference on bigger projects.

Good radiators, delivery could be faster

I recently purchased two new radiators and some TRVs from Wolseley. The radiators themselves are solid and were well-packaged, arriving without any dents. Installation was straightforward. My main gripe was the delivery time; it took 6 days to reach my address in Florida, which felt a bit long, especially since I was waiting to start the job. Customer service was helpful when I called to check on the tracking, so that was a positive. Prices were competitive, especially with the seasonal heating offer they had running. Overall, a good experience but faster shipping would make it even better.

Quick order, decent tap

Needed a new kitchen tap. Ordered a mixer tap online. It arrived in 5 days. Tap works fine, no leaks. Easy installation. Satisfied with the purchase.

Hey guys, thinking of picking up a new boiler from here. Heard good things about their trade accounts, but I'm just a regular homeowner. Can I still get decent prices or is it all geared towards pros?

N Noor B. 2 months ago
Yeah, they definitely sell to the general public. Prices are usually a bit higher without a trade account but they do have sales for everyone sometimes. Keep an eye out for clearance stuff.

You can totally buy from them. I got a bathroom suite last year during a 'bathroom deals' event, saved a bunch. Just won't get that deep trade discount right off the bat.

Anyone know how fast Wolseley delivers to say, Manchester? Need some parts for a job next week and can't afford delays.

B Brett Okafor 2 months ago
I'm in Birmingham and usually get stuff next day if I order early enough. Manchester isn't that far, so you'd probably be good for next day if you select that option.

Next day delivery is an option for sure. I've used it before when I was in a pinch. Just check the cut-off times when you order.

Just signed up for a trade account. How do I actually get the discount when I buy online? Is there a special code or does it just apply automatically?

D Daisy Vargas 2 months ago
Once you're logged into your trade account, the prices on the website should just show up with your discounted rates. No code needed for that, it's automatic. Any specific promo codes would go in the basket though.

Yeah, if your account is set up right, the prices update when you log in. If they don't, give them a call cause something's wrong.

Thinking of comparing Wolseley with Screwfix for a new set of power tools. Anyone got experience with both and can say which is better for trade tools?

N Neil 2 months ago
Screwfix sometimes has better deals on specific power tools, but Wolseley's selection for plumbing-specific tools (like pipe cutters or pressure gauges) is usually way more in-depth. For general stuff, it's a toss-up.

Depends what you're after. For basic drills and stuff, Screwfix can be cheaper. But for proper trade-quality kit, especially plumbing related, Wolseley is often the better shout. They have a wider range of high-end stuff.

Are Wolseley's own brand products any good? Like, their pipe fittings or radiator valves? Or am I better off sticking to known brands for reliability?

C Colin Reyes 2 months ago
I've used their push-fit fittings a few times, seemed perfectly fine. No leaks or issues. Probably made by one of the big manufacturers anyway, just rebadged.

Generally, their stuff is solid. They supply a lot of pros so it's not cheap tat. For critical stuff like boilers or heat pumps, I'd probably go for a specific brand, but for fittings, you're likely safe.
